The Brunei Information Technology (BIT) Council was formed by consent of His Majesty the Sultan and
Yang Di-Pertuan of Brunei Darussalam during the Legislative Council Meeting in the year 2000.

The Council is chaired by the Honourable Minister of Communications. Its Members comprise of high-level representatives from the Government, Business and NGOs.

The function of the BIT Council is to lead and drive ICT development required to achieve the goals of Wawasan 2035.
